To better serve those wishing to improve reading, writing, math, or English skills in Wayne County, LV Wayne establishes several different kinds of programs for adults to choose from according to their needs. While the traditional LVA Model of individualized, One-to-One Tutoring is still the most popular and most successful form of instruction, those wishing to might receive Two-to-One or even Small Group Tutoring, enabling them to learn with family and friends, or to take advantage of collaborative learning. Different group sizes are available in both literacy and ESL instruction. LV Wayne also maintains several Worksite Post-Employment Programs, designed to improve the basic skills of Wayne County employees as applied to their jobs. LVWC also provides tutors to help those who are taking part in Pre-Employment Training Programs to help them deal with training content. LV offers a center-based program in Sodus for farmworkers wishing to improve their English skills, and sends a small number of tutors to camps to work with groups of farmworkers with limited time or transportation during the harvest. Finally, Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County works with Pioneer Library Systems to provide computer-assisted English and Basic Skills instruction in the Sodus, Lyons, and Newark Libraries.
